We live in a highly inter-connected world in which our trading relationships are more important than ever before. For New Zealand to compete in new and emerging markets, we need the right mix of skills and investment that can develop, produce and sell the products the world wants.
Immigration is one tool in ensuring we have the right mix of skills. Sensible immigration policies also create links with international capital and business know-how that creates jobs and opportunities for other New Zealanders.
The Immigration Policy Advisory Group helps to investigate opportunities and incentives for settlement and investment, particularly in New Zealand’s regional economies, and through related opportunities for short to medium term visitors through high value tourism, international students and business visitors to New Zealand.
